Makerpad is the home of no-code education. We teach people how to build apps, websites, software and tech-based businesses, all without needing to know how to code. We work to the highest of standards; our goal is to make the best educational content out there.
In March 2021, Makerpad was acquired by Zapier. Together, we’re working towards our joint mission of democratizing automation.
We’re looking for a passionate educator and expert no-code/automation builder to join our team and help create no-code online courses in line with our current curriculum. Initially, you’ll work to detailed specs that the team has put together. Then, as you progress in the role, we’d expect you to have a say in the types of courses we make and their format. We’ll encourage you to be creative, and to speak up on what we can do differently to deliver on our mission of providing the world’s best no-code education.
What you’ll be doing
- Using detailed written specs to deliver self-paced, tutorial-based courses consisting of instructional videos and written steps, in line with Makerpad’s current curriculum. This will include;
- Working out how a project can be completed using no-code and/or automation, then turning this into a tutorial-based course.
- Writing instructions in a step-by-step format that helps the learner complete projects from start to finish. You’ll need to be creative in the way you write, to engage and teach learners whilst also making the course material fun and enjoyable to work through.
- Creating clear, concise videos by using screen-share and a mic. Bonus if you’re comfortable being on camera too — this isn’t a necessity but is highly preferred.
- Proofreading your own work before delivering it, to ensure it’s of the highest quality and is error-free.
- Editing your work after it has been reviewed, according to any feedback you get from the team.
- Actively make suggestions on how we can improve our course quality, content, and format.
- (After 3-6 months in the role) Working with the team on the course roadmap and educational strategy.
- You’ll work alongside our senior course creator and will report to Makerpad’s Founder/CEO.
Who you are
You’ll thrive in this role if you;
- Have at least 3 years of experience using no-code tools like Airtable, Webflow, Carrd, Notion, etc.
- Have a deep understanding of Zapier, and how automation can be used to its full potential in no-code projects.
- Love ‘figuring shit out’ by stacking tools together and exploring new workflows to help you get tasks done.
- Can build a mobile application (simple or complex) using Adalo, Glide, or other no-code mobile app builders.
- Are a natural teacher; you thrive on showing people how things are done, and you love imparting your knowledge with others.
The logistics
- Remote role
- Flexible hours to suit you, minimum 15 hours per week up to full-time hours
- Freelance position (you’ll be responsible for your own tax and sending us monthly invoices)
- You’ll need access to your own computer and a good internet connection
